The Celtic Dragon Tarot by DJ Conway and Lisa Hunt
Justice - Legal matters.
There is a possibility of encounters with lawyers, judges, or the police. Only logical thinking and facts will enable you to move forward. There can be a satisfactory conclusion to a legal matter if you take care. This card may herald the signing of contracts or legal papers.
As far as applying to my life I have no comment on this one other than to say that in some ways it applies, but not in a surprising or unexpected way. The month is early yet though so you never know and I'll be keeping an eye out on things.
I spent the last week dwelling on this card, didn't have a clue as to how I wanted to portray it. I did a lot of web searching on Justice and what it means or how it applies to different cultures and time periods. Then I started going through images that came up on the searches. The one that caught me was the Sword of Justice, so I sketched my version on the brick background I had "graffitied" with my Neocolors wax pastels.
Being completely honest here, I thought about throwing in the towel on the BJP on this one... or rather at the very least tossing the format of using the tarot cards to bead from. I drew the card on the first of the month and thought you have GOT to be kidding me, drawing Justice right after drawing Judgement. After a little hissy and some thinking I decided I would stick the course. I get a feeling that maybe these cards don't apply only (or maybe at all depending) to me, that there's a bigger message being put out there and who ever needs it will eventually see it. Another reason to stick to it is that it's not fair to hamstring the deck by only using one section of it then decide you want to get pissy over two "dark" cards in a row.
I can always bead the art dolls when a card doesn't necessarily fit my mood.

This is funny. I don't know why. Afterall, you pulled the card. Just go with it. You called the challenge. You can't change the rules. You did what you had to do and you did it proud!
The page is good and it certainly depicts justice. Love the graffitti in the background.
Oh come on! I think the idea of the
graffitied "Justice" on brick is brilliant!
Don't be so hard on your self.
Also...maybe it's supposed to be "Just ice"??? ;-)
I'm just sayin'!
Anyway, I like it.
Keep it up...

LOL! Thanks for the encouragement Carol and Debi :)
I got "over myself" on it fairly quickly and yes, it IS funny... and think the comment I used on myself was "quit being a big baby and THINK". Heee. Next time I'll make sure I draw when I'm not exhausted and worn out.
It is about the challenge of portraying which ever card appears... and yes I am up to the challenge even though I may have a "moment". I had picked out the brick fabric right away and kept thinking it just didn't look right when it was blank and it just looked like it begging for some writing on it :)
Really neat, I like it! About changing plans when one idea doesn't fit a mood, I could never do that. My moods change too frequently, so I have to commit and stick to it! ;)
Oh, I do like this one. Having done jury duty this past summer, it definitely struck a chord. Keep on doing what you're doing.
You've done a great job at portraying the concept of Justice. To me, the graffiti shows that there are some who have a difficult time finding justice.

I like your thought that this card came forward because somehow it is needed, if not by you, then as a messenger to a larger audience. I'm very glad you went ahead with it and hope you'll continue, no matter what card you draw. It could be that by the end of the year a very clear pathway will emerge. And besides that, I love your choices for the design, the fabric and most of all the graffiti. Robin A.
Barbra - you and me both on the changing moods :)
Thank you Arline and Marty for giving me your thoughts on how it resonates with others... I always appreciate it!
Robin - It will be interesting to see where the pathway shows won't it?! I am definitely continuing on... like Carol said, I set the rules and I'm going to stick to them :)
I'm also thinking the meaning will become clearer in time...and as you say, the month isn't over yet.
I really like the grafitti behind the beadwork!
I really like your execution of the design challenge. The grafitti on the brick wall, the sword of justice... it all works. And for now maybe you can just consider it a design challenge, not a personal message!
I loved the wall right away. Your not running up against it now are you?! Ha! I love the tarot pull idea, it reminds me alot of what Robin is doing with her words. Let yourself be guided on a journey. Very cool!
Nice idea. Thanks for commenting on my blog.
